چکیده
Methods Blood samples were collected from 37 asthmatics patients and 60 unrelated normal individuals with informed consent. The DNA was isolated from PBL by using a salting out technique. SNPs were selected from dbSNP: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/SNP/. Nine VDR polymorphisms were genotyped: FokI (rs2228570), Apal (rs7975232), BsmI (rs1544410), TaqI (rs731236), rs703842, rs4516035, rs 2248098, rs 71139166, rs7975232. Total IgE was determined with a commercial ELISA kit. The allergens tested on patients by Prick Test were D Pteronyssinus, D Farine B Tropicalis and P Americana, Genotyping was performed using MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry of allele-specific primer extension products generated from amplified DNA sequences (Mas-sARRAY, SEQUENOM Inc).

ADAM33 gene polymorphisms in Southwestern Iranian patients with asthma
Objective(s): Asthma, the most frequent chronic respiratory disease, results from a complex interaction between multiple genes and environmental factors. To date, more than 100 candidate genes and single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) have been reported to be associated with asthma. One of the discovered genes related to asthma is ADAM33. However, the relationship between ADAM33 gene polymorph...
متن کاملAssociation of ADAM33 gene polymorphisms with allergic asthma
Objective(s): Asthma results from the interaction between genetic and environmental factors. ADAM33 gene on chromosome 20p13 is associated with asthma and airway hyperresponsiveness. Materials and Methods: This is a case-control study, where four SNPs S1 (rs3918396), T1 (rs2280091), T2 (rs2280090), V4 (rs2787094) of ADAM33 gene have been assessed in patients with allergic asthma and normal con...

Background: Asthma is a life-threatening disease that can cause death due to bronchospasm. In addition to clinical symptoms such as wheezing, acute paroxysmal dyspnea, chronic cough after exposure to cold air or cough after exercise, spirometry is also necessary for the diagnosis of asthma. The association between respiratory symptoms and a positive methacholine challenge test (MCT) is still co...
متن کاملEpidemiologic study of the factors affecting the incidence of asthma and allergies with emphasis on arthropod allergens in the patients referring to Imam Reza Clinic of Asthma and Allergy in Shiraz, 2016
Background and Aim: Asthma and allergy caused by arthropods are among the most common disorders which affect millions of people around the world. Among these diseases, respiratory allergic diseases and inhaled allergens are of particular importance. In this study we investigated all of the biotic and abiotic factors affecting the incidence and prevalence of allergen-related diseases, with emph...
متن کاملA Pilot Study of Polymorphism of Adrenergic Beta-2 Receptor and Mild Asthma: A Clinical and Pharmacogenetic Study
Glycine allele at codon 16 has previously been associated with the increase in asthma severity, bronchial hyperresponsiveness and also the increase in inhaled corticosteroid dependence. This study was designed to evaluate the genetic alleles in mild asthma.Thirty-four patients with diagnosis of mild asthma (FEV1 ≥ 80%, positive methacholine test) and body mass index (BMI ≤ 30 Kg/m2) were includ...
